Kathryn A. “Kay” Ansley, 79, of Newburg, died Tuesday, May 1, 2012 in the Carlisle Regional Medical Center.
Born June 14, 1932 in Marquette, Michigan, she was a daughter of the late Keith and Alice Stockwell Allan.
Kathryn was a member of Middle Spring Presbyterian Church, Shippensburg and was very active with various organizations within the church. She retired from the Big Spring School District, teaching second grade at the Bloserville Elementary School. Kathryn was a graduate of the former Shippensburg State Teachers College and the Shippensburg High School. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee J. Ansley who died April 1, 1982.
She is survived by two daughters, Jean A. Heer and her husband Bill of Cocoa, FL, and Barbara A. Myers and her husband Curt of Newburg, five grandchildren, Molly Gilbert and her husband Chris, and JoEllen Gamble and her husband Tyler all of Shippensburg, Lee Myers of Newburg, Andrew and Kathleen Heer of Cocoa, FL, three great grandchildren, Kloe and Kenzie Gilbert, and Logan Gamble all of Shippensburg, and her favorite pet dog, Zoe.
Memorial services will be held Friday, May 4, 2012 in the Middle Spring Presbyterian Church at 3 p.m. with The Rev. Kimberley Wadlington officiating. Burial in Middle Spring Cemetery will be held privately at a later date. A viewing will be held Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Shippensburg.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Middle Spring Presbyterian Church, 135 Middle Spring Road, Shippensburg, PA 17257, or the American Cancer Society, 384 Floral Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201.
