Katelyn Burkholder

Katelyn Marie Burkholder, 16, daughter of Elvin H. and Susan N. (Zimmerman) Burkholder, born on August 18, 2007, died at her home on the morning of January 7, 2024.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by three sisters, Michelle Elaine (11 years old), Bethany Faith (3 years old), Krystal Sue (1 year old); one brother, Javon Isaac (7 years old), all at home; paternal grandparents, Eli G. and Vera R. Burkholder, of Newville; maternal grandmother, Susan M. Zimmerman of Boyd, WI; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and her caregivers.

Katelyn was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Jacob M. Zimmerman; two uncles, Samuel Zimmerman and Ammon Zimmerman; and two cousins, Marie Zimmerman and Marcus Burkholder.

Her funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m., on Friday, January 12, 2024, at the Shippensburg Old Order Mennonite Church (Shippensburg Groffdale Church) on Duncan Road. Bishops’ Isaac Weaver, Daniel Zimmerman, Harvey Hoover, Amos Martin, and Wayne Zimmerman will be officiating. Interment will take place in the adjoining church cemetery. Viewing will be held at the Burkholder residence, 20 Springfield Rd., Shippensburg, PA 17257, on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., and again from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
