Karen L. Linard
1945 ~ 2010
Karen L. Linard, 64, of Shippensburg, went to be with the lord on August 4, 2010 at the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born on September 13, 1945 in Pittsburgh, PA, the daughter of the late Valentine and Cora Dean Conte.
Karen was a 1963 graduate of Wilkensburg High School and a 1965 graduate of Harcum Jr. College, Bryn Mawr, PA.
Years ago, Karen worked as a teller for the former Valley Bank, Shippensburg.
She was a member of the Messiah United Methodist Church, Shippensburg and a former member of Shippensburg’s Junior Civic Club.
Karen is survived by her son, Jeffery W. (Carolyn) Master of W. Palm Beach, Fl.; her daughter, Christine A. (Michael) Johnson of Shippensburg; two grandchildren, Brooke A. Johnson and Hunter M. Johnson, both of Shippensburg; and one brother, V. Dean Conte of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, William S. Master, who was killed in action, in Vietnam
.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 9, 2010 at the Messiah United Methodist Church, Shippensburg. The Rev. Kevin E. Hughes will officiate. Interment will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Viewing will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Sunday evening, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Shippensburg and one hour prior to the service at church on Monday.
