Julia Elisabeth Wadel, 90, of Shippensburg, was welcomed into the arms of her loving heavenly Father on the evening of Wednesday, December 2, 2015, at the Chambersburg Hospital, with family at her side.
She was born on March 7, 1925, in Shippensburg, a daughter of the late William P. and Anna P. Shriner Wadel.
Julia was a member of the Rowe Mennonite Church. She taught Summer Bible School at the Horse Valley Mission Church and made many little girls dresses for Christian Aid.
She is survived by two brothers, Ira and John Wadel and one sister, Anna Mary Weaver, all of Shippensburg. Julia was loved very much by her nieces and nephews and will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents, Julia was preceded in death by four brothers, William J., Leslie, Albert, and Wayne Sr. and three sisters, Eva Fleagle, Nellie Lehman, and Carrie Stewart.
Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at the Rowe Mennonite Church, Shippensburg, with the Rowe Ministry officiating. Interment will follow in the adjacent church cemetery. Viewing will be Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg, and one hour prior to the services on Tuesday morning at church.
