Judy Hippensteel Wyrick, 79, of Shippensburg, departed this life to be with her Lord on the morning of Saturday, February 10, 2024, at the Shippensburg Health Care Center.
Judy was born in Chambersburg, on May 16, 1944, the daughter of the late George W., Sr. and Florence L. (Trail) Hippensteel. She was a 1962 graduate of Shippensburg High School and married Jack D. Wyrick on September 1, 1962.
Judy worked as a teller and customer service rep at Dauphin Deposit Bank in Shippensburg and as a substitute secretary for the Shippensburg School District.
Judy was a long-time member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Walnut Bottom, and helped with the clothing bank for many years. In her free time, Judy enjoyed golfing and bowling, and watching hallmark movies. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Spending time with her family was the most important part of her life.
Judy is survived by her daughter, Tamra J. Holtry and husband Randy of Newburg; her son, Kevin J. Wyrick and wife Charlene of Spring Grove; five grandchildren, Jessica Holtry, Christopher Holtry and wife Kaylyn, and Jonathan, Benjamin, and Kathryn Wyrick; three great grandchildren, Raelyn and Carter Holtry and Brynna Wright; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her mother and father, Judy was preceded in death by her husband, and her siblings, Francis Mellinger, George Jr. Hippensteel, Phyllis Shoemaker, Clyde Hippensteel, Peggy Parr, and Ronald Hippensteel.
Her memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at the Trinity United Methodist Church, Walnut Bottom. Rev. Robert E. Stump will officiate. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am at the church.
