Judy Lynn Lushbaugh, 73, of Greencastle, departed this life on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at the WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital.
She was born on April 28, 1951, in Binghamton, Brome County, New York, the daughter of the late George E. and June M. (MacNeil) Hickok. Judy married Richard L. Lushbaugh, Sr., on March 27, 1971, in Franklin Forks, Montrose, PA.
Judy worked as a medical secretary throughout Hagerstown for over fifty years. She was employed at Potomac Anesthesia Associates, Cardiology Consultants, Parkway Neuroscience and Spine Institute, and Parkway Surgery Center, where she was still employed part-time to this day.
In her free time, Judy enjoyed quilting, baking, gardening, and fishing. At one time she was a member of a local Hagerstown singing group, Souled Out. Judy attended Bethel Assembly in Hagerstown, MD.
In addition to her husband of fifty-three years, Richard, she is survived by her son, Richard L. Lushbaugh, Jr. and wife Krista of St. Thomas; her daughter, Jennifer L. Shaffer and husband John of Greencastle; six grandchildren, Austin and Dawson Lushbaugh, and Nathanael, Adrianna, Kayla, and Isaiah Shaffer; one great granddaughter, Kimber Grace Lushbaugh; two brothers, Duane Hickok of Brackney, PA, and Roy Hickok of Ocala, FL; several nieces and nephews; and best friends, Charlene K. Brereton of Williamsport, MD, Peggy Shatzer of Hagerstown, and Carolyn Jones of Chambersburg.
In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by two brothers, Merle and George Hickok.
Her memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. Visitation will be one hour prior to the memorial service on Saturday afternoon at the funeral home. Judy will be laid to rest in the Brookside Memorial Park, Montrose, PA, at a later date.
