Judith Elizabeth Spidle, 66, of Shippensburg, died on the morning of Friday, September 14, 2012, at the Chambersburg Hospital.
She was born on August 1, 1946, in Newburg, the daughter of the late Bruce and Helen Mowery Dunlap. On March 25, 1967, Judith married Mr. Frank A. Spidle at the Newburg First Church of God.
Over the years, Judith was employed at the former Hoffman Mills, Stanley Company, G.S. Electric, and Nettie Frock’s Clothing Factory. She also worked as a Home Care Aide for a period of time and was a great Homemaker to her family.
Judith had attended the Newburg First Church of God for 27 years. She volunteered frequently at the Kings Kettle Food Pantry, liked to travel, take walks and car rides, sew, camp, and go fishing with her husband. She especially liked spending lots of time with her grandkids and family.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Frank; her daughter, Nanette M. Gettle of Chambersburg; two grandchildren, Bruce M. and Julie M. Spidle of Shippensburg; three brothers, Donald (Anna Mary) Dunlap of Newville, William (Doris) Dunlap of Newburg, and Barry (Shirley) Dunlap of Shippensburg; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Judith was preceded in death by two sons in infancy and one granddaughter in infancy, Elizabeth Lynnette.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 19, 2012, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg. Pastor J.R. Wells will officiate. Interment will follow in the Otterbein Cemetery. Viewing will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening, at the funeral home.
