Judith A. Jenkins, 70 of Shippensburg, died on the morning of Tuesday, January 17, 2012, at her home, surrounded by her family.
She was born on September 25, 1941, in Newville, the daughter of Laura M. Hamilton Jumper and the late Paul H. Beidel. A 1960 graduate of Big Spring High School, Judith married Mr. Raymond S. Jenkins, Jr. on March 11, 1961, in Hagerstown, MD. She was a homemaker throughout her life.
Judith was a long time member of the Leesburg United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post #223 Ladies Auxiliary, liked to bowl in her younger days, and was an avid crafter.
She is survived by her mother; her husband of 50 years, Raymond S. Jenkins, Jr.; three daughters, Kimberly K. (Reginald) Crusey, Jr. of Shippensburg, Rae A. (fiance’ Curtis Shumberger) Diehl of Mechanicsburg, and Theresa K. Jenkins of Shippensburg; one brother, Philip E. (Sandra) Beidel of Newville; four grandchildren, Zachary (Joan) Crusey of Shippensburg, Kristina (fiance’ Jason Kephart) Crusey of Carlisle, Travis (Jessica) Clouse of Carlisle, and Miranda (fiance’ Spencer Myers) Clouse of Shippensburg; five great grandchildren, Logan, Kobe, Ethan, Chase, and Abigail; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her biological father, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Carl N. Jumper.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, January 20, 2012 at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg. Pastor Barbara Servello will officiate. Interment will follow in the Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. Viewing will be Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
