Judith Heberlig

Judith P. “Judy” Heberlig, 85, formerly of Newburg, passed away the morning of Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Green Ridge Village.
She was born on Tuesday, February 15, 1938 in Baltimore, MD, the daughter of the late Walter George and Carrie Plank. She married William G. Heberlig on September 25, 1959. He preceded her in death on October 1, 2005.
Judy worked for Weis Markets in Shippensburg for over 25 years. She was also a homemaker and frequently helped out her son, Lance, on the farm. Judy was a longtime member of Newburg United Methodist Church and was very active with their clothing center. At the church, she enjoyed compiling trivia questions for various church activities. Judith was also a former member of the Farm Women Group. She enjoyed ceramics, painting, word puzzles, and loved her Airedale Terriers.
She is survived by two children, Lorraine H. Allman of Derry, PA, and Dwaine R. (Robin) Heberlig of Mt. Holly Springs; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two brothers, Walter Plank of Mt. Holly Springs, and Donald Plank of New Mexico; and a daughter-in-law, Susan F. Heberlig of Newburg.
In addition to her parents and spouse, she was preceded in death by her son, Lance W. Heberlig; and one brother, George Plank.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Newburg United Methodist Church. Pastor Kevin Brophy will officiate. A time of fellowship with the family will follow the service at the church. Judy will be privately laid to rest alongside her husband in the Zion Cemetery.
