Juanita V. Hoover, 72, of Shippensburg, died on Monday, April 26, 2010, at Johns Hopkins Medical Center.
Born on May 29, 1937, in Walnut Bottom, a daughter of the late Blain and Alma Kauffman Wyrick.
On April 11, 1959, Juanita married Mr. Robert E. Hoover in Hagerstown, MD. He preceded her in death on November 19, 2006.
Juanita was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, of both the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post #223 and Durff-Kuhn V.F.W. Post #6168. She was a founding member of the Shippensburg Area Women’s Softball League and played for over twenty years. She also loved to golf and did a lot of reading.
Juanita is survived by her son, Scott E. Hoover of Shippensburg; her daughter, Lisa E. (Ricky) Suders of Shippensburg; her grandson, Justin E. Hoover of Newburg; a sister, Sonja Perry of Shippensburg; and two nephews, Kelly and Chris Perry. She was preceded in death by her husband and a sister in infancy, Patsy Lee Wyrick.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, April 30, 2010, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg. The Rev. Paul Hauk will officiate. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Viewing will be on Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
