Joseph B. Isaac, 93, of Shippensburg, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at his home.
Born Monday, October 29, 1923 in Washington, D.C., he was a son of the late Elmer E. and Grace D. Becker Isaac.
Joseph was of the Catholic and Greek Orthodox Faith. He was a United States Army Veteran serving in WWII with the 24th Calvary Reconnaissance Squadron Mechanized. He toured with Troop C in France, Belgium and
Joseph was the owner and operator of The Bicycle Center in Rockville, MD retiring in 1985.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie # 3509, Gaithersburg, MD, Elks Lodge # 15, Rockville, MD, Guy C. Parlett American Legion Post # 7, Annapolis, MD and The Optimist Club of Rockville, MD.
Joseph is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ora Evelyn Ferris Isaac of Shippensburg, whom he married on May 1, 1954, one son, Jeffrey L. Isaac, Sr., one daughter, Marianne (husband Robert) Morrison, all of Frederick, MD, three grandsons, , Allen C. (wife Lauren) Isaac, Mt Dora, FL, Jeffrey L. (wife Katie) Isaac, Jr. and Bryan M. Morrison, one granddaughter, Kendyl R. Morrison, one great granddaughter, Adelyn Mae Isaac, all of Frederick, MD, one sister, Lorraine Esworthy, Frederick, MD and a sister in-law, Eleanor Isaac, Fairfield, PA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Elmer Isaac and one sister, Delores Thompson.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc. with Father Dwight D. Schlaline officiating. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
