John Young

John Daryl Young, 57, of Shippensburg, died Sunday, June 23, 2013 at home.

He was born April 20, 1956 in Chambersburg, Franklin County. John was a son of the late John Leroy and Betty Ann Hammond Young.

He worked at General Castings in Shippensburg since 1974. John was a 1974 graduate of Shippensburg Area Senior High School and enjoyed hunting, watching NASCAR and western movies, football, listening to country music, spending time with his grandchildren, his dog Rocky, and doing odd jobs for other people.

John is survived by his companion of 37 years, Rose M. Orndorff McBeth; two sons, Jerry B. Orndorff and his wife Stacy of Chambersburg, and Michael L. McBeth of Shippensburg; one daughter, Candy S. Bigler and her husband Ron of Shippensburg; one brother, Douglas L. Young and his wife Christinea of Shippensburg; d two sisters, Christine E. Mansberger and her husband Jeff of Shippensburg, and Shirley Ann Umbrell and her husband Charles of Newburg; seven grandchildren, Kyler Orndorff, Dustin, Dillion, and Michaela McBeth, and Shelby, Abagayle, and Isabella Bigler; two nieces, Sheila Eyer and Rebecca Rotz, and a nephew Nathan Mansberger.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 29, 2013 at 10 a.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg. Officiating will be The Rev. Harold E. Yeager. Burial will be in Cleversburg Cemetery. A viewing will be held Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
