John F. “Pete” Seibert, Jr., 88, of Shippensburg, departed this life on the morning of Sunday, December 23, 2018.
He was born on January 13, 1930, in Dry Run, a son of the late John F. and Margaret B. Price Seibert, Sr. and married Eleanor A. Diehl on February 16, 1952 in Hagerstown, MD.
John worked as a plant operator for Valley Quarries for twenty years, retiring in 1995. Throughout his life he also worked on the family farm.
John was of the Methodist faith. In his free time, he enjoyed woodworking. John loved his pet dog, Sue.
In addition to his wife of sixty-six years, Eleanor, John is survived by three sons, Dennis R. (Carla) Seibert of Chambersburg, David F. (Lisa) Seibert of Shippensburg, and Dale E. Seibert of Shippensburg; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; five siblings, Pauline Hinkle of Shippensburg, Gladys Morehouse of Mt. Holly Springs, Kenneth (Mary) Seibert of Carlisle, Paul (Jerry) Seibert of Cleversburg, and Jane Alleman of Gettysburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by one son, Daniel L. Seibert, who died on May 28, 1977.
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, December 31, 2018, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. Pastor Donald Herb will officiate. Interment will follow in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg. Viewing will be Sunday afternoon, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
