John S. Rosenberry, Jr., 82, of Carlisle, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born Monday, May 6, 1940 in Shippensburg, Franklin County, he was a son of the late John S. and Elsie M. Russell Rosenberry, Sr.
John was of the Christian Faith. He retired in 1999 from the Painters District Council 21 after 50 years of service. John was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles # 1299, Carlisle.
He enjoyed and participated in local car shows, and was an avid car collector. John enjoyed hunting, dirt track racing, meat raffles, and loved going to flea markets.
He is survived by three sons, Terry L. “Buck” (Susan) Kuykendall, Woodbine, GA, Charles W. (Jonnie Faye) Kuykendall, Elgin, SC, and John L. (Jean) Rosenberry, Shippensburg; two daughters, Vicki (David) Kuykendall-King, Pleasant Hall, and Lisa E. (companion John King) Martin, Newburg; two brothers, Jack (Jean) Rosenberry, and Robert Rosenberry, both of Carlisle; two sisters, Susie Rosenberry and Judy Crull, both of Knoxville, TN; 14 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and his loving dog, Morgan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth E. Kreamer Rosenberry, who passed away June 24, 2021; and one son, Rick E. Rosenberry.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc. with Pastor Mark Durniak officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held Tuesday, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday in the funeral home.
