John J. McKenrick, 68, of Shippensburg, passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at home with his family by his side.
Born Saturday, June 25, 1949 in Mainsville, John was a son of the late Joseph W. and Margaret G. Adams McKenrick.
He retired form AWI Industries, Shippensburg. John was a 1968 graduate of Shippensburg Area Senior High School. He was a member of Our Lady of the Visitation Catholic Church, Shippensburg. John also was a member of the following; Durff-Kuhn VFW Post #6168, Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post #223, Shippensburg Rod and Gun Club, and the Hub City Club, all of Shippensburg.
John enjoyed the outdoors and especially hunting and fishing with his grandchildren Dalton and Sara. He had a great time while hunting whitetails with his grandson, Dalton, in North Carolina. John loved and enjoyed spending time with all his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Holtry, nephew, Tim Holtry, brother, James McKenrick, brother-in-law, Gary Suders, father-in-law, Chester Suders, Sr. and sister-in-law, Chloe McKenrick.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Helen L. Suders McKenrick whom he married July 18, 1970, two daughters, Barbara S. Jones and her companion, Steve Moffat, Jr. of Shippensburg and Teresa M. (Steve) Ege of Walnut Bottom, grandson, Dalton Jones and his companion, Loren Kienzle of Shippensburg; granddaughter Sara Jones of Shippensburg, and grandsons Joseph and Jacob Ege of Walnut Bottom, great granddaughter, Harper Jones, three brothers, Paul McKenrick, son Daryl wife Kim McKenrick of Shippensburg, Mike (Carol) McKenrick of Gardners, Ray (Chris) McKenrick of Shippensburg, two sisters, Kay and Mary McKenrick of Chambersburg, mother-in-law, Susie (Helm) Suders, brothers-in-law, Rick (Lisa) Suders, Bruce (Kim) Suders, Charlie (Mary Jo) Suders and Ronnie (Jamie) Suders, sisters-in-law, Marce (Kel) Kirby and Arleen (Jonathan) Reid all of Shippensburg and Cindy (Jason) Erwin of Shade Gap and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, February 10, 2018 in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Shippensburg. Officiating will be Father Dwight Schlaline. Burial will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Viewing will be held Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. with a prayer service starting at 7:30 p.m.
