John D. McCay, 76, of Michael Court, Shippensburg, died Thursday, January 10, 2013 in Green Ridge Village.
Born Saturday, March 21, 1936 in New York City, NY, he was a son of the late Daniel and Anne Kavanagh McCay.
John retired from the Nassau County Police Headquarters; he was a member of Our Lady of the Visitation Catholic Church, Shippensburg and a member of the Emerald Society of New York.
Surviving is his wife of 54 years, Hannah T. McCarthy McCay, four sons; Edward G. McCay and his wife Randi of Las Vegas, NV, Daniel J. McCay and his wife Jennifer of Wantagh, NY, Thomas M. McCay and his wife Donna of Medford Long Island, NY and Michael P. McCay and his wife Sabrina of Shippensburg, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 14, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc. with Father Paul J. Theisz officiating. Burial will be private. A viewing will be held Sunday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary service being held at 7:30 p.m. there will also be a viewing one hour prior to the service on Monday in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 3544 North Progress Avenue, Suite 205 Harrisburg, PA 17110.
