John King

John D. King, 60, of Newburg, formerly of Hagerstown, MD, died Monday, February 18, 2013 at home.

He was born Sunday, September 14, 1952 in New Market, VA. John was a son of the late Myron A. and Edna R. Stoltzfus King.

He was a member of the Faith Tabernacle and was currently an elementary teacher at their school. John was the founder and owner of the King Oil Company in Hagerstown, retiring in 2008.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Anita J. Henson King, a son, Jordan D. King, a brother, Elwood J. King and a sister, Eleanor J. King.

He is survived by his wife, Shelva J. (Fogelsanger) King, four sons, Allen E. King of Nashville, TN, Donald R. King of Hagerstown, MD, W. Joshua King of Waynesboro, and Matthew L. King of Manhattan, NY, three daughters, Janet D. Pierre and her husband Josue of Chambersburg, Eden M. King of Clayton, IL, and Julie A. King of Amelia, VA, four step sons, William D., Steven M., and Matthew J. Fogelsanger and his wife Jill all of Shippensburg, and Timothy A. Fogelsanger of Newville, six step daughters, Leanne M., Andrea V., Rebecca J., Emily L., Amy L., and Karen E. Fogelsanger all of Newburg, a brother, William D. McCracken of Bristol, VA, two sisters, Catherine Fogg of Williamstown, NJ, and Karen Weaver of Ovid, NY, two grandchildren, Jeanita Pierre of Chambersburg, and Darren Fogelsanger of Shippensburg, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 25, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the Rowe Mennonite Church, 754 Pinola Road, Shippensburg, PA 17257. Officiating will be The Rev. Rowland G. Foster and The Rev. Lon A. Feaser. Burial will be in the Conococheague Mennonite Cemetery, Hagerstown, MD. A viewing will be held Sunday from 1-8 p.m.in the Rowe Mennonite Church and Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of services in the church.

The family requests the omission of flowers and that memorial contributions may be made to Faith Tabernacle, 1410 Good Hope Road, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050.
