John Lynn Killian, 70, of Palm City, Florida passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer and liver disease on August 23, 2022.
John was born in Bedford, Ohio in 1951 to parents Donald R. and Anna Jane (Daughtery) Killian.
John graduated from Shippensburg University in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania in 1975 with a degree in Business Administration with an emphasis on Accounting. He started his career with Prudential Insurance Company that same year and after a 40-year career retired from Prudential in 2015. Some of John’s accomplishments include serving as President of the Cumberland County Life Underwriter’s Association, being a PIAA Swimming and Diving official for high school and college, being involved with many fundraisers for various causes and most recently serving as a Director At Large in his local residential community. John was always willing to help out where he could and never expected anything in return. The most meaningful accomplishment John had was being a devoted husband, father and grandfather to his wife, daughter and grandson. He was always there to offer love, support and guidance.
John enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was always ready with a funny comment to make the group laugh. He enjoyed playing games such as cornhole and water volleyball at the community pool, as well as, playing cards for hours with friends. He played golf and was an avid movie watcher and sports fan. It was rare not to see John watching a golf tournament or football game.
John is survived by his wife, Linda (Eberly) Killian of forty-nine years of marriage. After being introduced by John's best friend and Linda's close cousin Bob Horst, John and Linda married in 1973 in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. In addition to Linda, John is survived by his daughter Jennifer (Killian) Goodman (Scott) and grandson Nicholas Adamson; Brother Donald (Patricia) Killian, niece Donna (Robert) Daday and nephew Kenneth (Jennifer) Killian and great nieces and nephew and Aunt Berneda (Daughtery) Witter.
