John “Jack” Dalton, 85, of Shippensburg, died Saturday, February 23, 2013 in the Shippensburg Health Care Center.
He was born April 21, 1927 in Walpole, MA. John was a son of the late John and Mildred MacLean Dalton.
Jack retired form Wiggins Airways in Norwood, MA, where he was an Airport Manager. He extensively volunteered at the Shippensburg Historical Society, and in his daughter’s fourth grade classroom at Grace B. Luhrs Elementary. Jack was a past board member of the Shippensburg Public Library. His hand painted signage can still be seen in many local places around Shippensburg, including the Public Library, Corn Festival, and the Rails to Trails. Jack attended Boston University.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth M. Homan Dalton, two daughters, Cynthia J. Pimental and her husband Michael of Shippensburg, and Suzanne H. Brown of Chambersburg, a brother, Paul MacLean Dalton of Dover, MA, a sister, Pamela Ann Nixon of Westwood, MA, four grandchildren, Kathleen Thomason and her husband Charles of Shippensburg, Matthew Pimental and his companion Azy Kia of Merion Station, PA, Lindsay Fetzer and her husband Christopher of Georgetown, DC, and David Brown of San Juan, Puerto Rico, two great grandchildren, Heidi and Hazel Thomason of Shippensburg.
Memorial services will be private. There will be no viewing or visitation.
