John E. Bard, 67, of Shippensburg, died Thursday, February 6, 2014 in Johns Hopkins, Baltimore, MD.
He was born February 12, 1946 in Chambersburg, PA. John was a son of the late Robert E., Sr. and Pauline Green Bard.
He was a retired Shippensburg Township Supervisor. John was a member of the Shippensburg First Church of God and a life member of the Vigilant Hose Company in Shippensburg.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Worthington Bard, three sons, Thomas E. Bard, Timothy E. Bard, Sr. and his wife Angela, and Roman T. Bard and his wife Terri all of Shippensburg, two step sons, Craig A. Deskins of Shippensburg, and Jason R. Deskins and his wife Jennifer of FL, twelve grandchildren, four great grandchildren, three brothers, Robert E. Bard, Jr. of Shippensburg, William Bard of Hershey, and Larry Bard of SC, one sister, Jane Chamberlin of Shippensburg and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Beckenbaugh.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 13, 2014 in the Shippensburg First Church of God at 2 p.m. Officiating will be The Rev. William Myers. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Shippensburg.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Shippensburg First Church of God, 121 East King Street, Shippensburg, PA 17257.
