Joan L. Kriner, 90, of Shippensburg, departed this life on the afternoon of Saturday, May 13, 2023.
She was born on February 26, 1933, in Joppa, MD, a daughter of the late Ray H. and Loma (Yates) Long, Sr. She married Lester E. Kriner on October 27, 1979. He preceded him in death on June 27, 2022.
Joan worked as an accountant for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Budget Office, from where she retired. She was a member of the Hope Reformed Presbyterian Church, Shippensburg.
Joan is survived by three sons, John E. Thomas and wife Virginia of Silverdale, WA, James H. Thomas and wife Linda of Derwood, MD, and Joseph H. Thomas and wife Stacy of Shippensburg; twelve grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; a brother, Ray H. Long, Jr., of Quincy; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Joan was preceded in death by two brothers, Bruce E. Long and Donald H. Long; and four sisters, Verna Lesher, Betty Burgard, Loma Lynch, and Irene Norman.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, May 19, 2023, in the Hope Reformed Presbyterian Church, Shippensburg. Pastor Steve Brown will officiate along with her son, Pastor Joseph H. Thomas.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. Joan will be laid to rest at 11:00, on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, in the Ft. Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.
