Joan “Jo” E. Bollinger, 83, of Carlisle, departed this life on the morning of Sunday, January 5, 2020, at the UPMC Carlisle Hospital.
She was born on December 14, 1936, in Delaware Twp., Juniata Co., a daughter of the late Lester W. and Hilda K. (Fry) Reeder and married Benjamin A. Bollinger on July 10, 1976. He preceded her in death on December 6, 1997.
Jo worked as a secretary at the former Kinney Shoe, Carlisle, for many years, but was primarily a homemaker throughout her life. She took pride in keeping a clean and tidy home. Jo liked to garden and always took very good care of her yard as well. One of her most favorite things to do was to go on long walks around her neighborhood. Jo also loved looking after and spending time with her dog, Holly.
She is survived by her son, Russell Stine and wife Chris of Carlisle; her granddaughter, Bonni Myers and husband Dale, III, of Orrstown; two great granddaughters, Madison and Alexis Myers of Orrstown; three sisters, Cindy Hockenberry of Florida, Evelyn Reeder of Boiling Springs, and Wilma Clippinger of Carlisle; one brother, Lester Reeder of Carlisle; her dog, Holly; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her second husband, Jo was preceded in death by her first husband, Russel R. Stine; four sisters; and one brother.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, January 10, 2020, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. Pastor Dale A. Detweiler will officiate. Interment will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home
