Jessie Leach Solomon, was born August 2, 1919 in Judson Mill, SC. She died March 2, 2011 at her home in Carlisle, PA. She passed away after a prolonged illness.
Jessie graduated from Burlington High School, Burlington, NC in 1937. She then attended bookkeeping school. She married Leonard Solomon in 1951 that ended her career in bookkeeping and started her career as a Mother and homemaker.
She is preceded in death by her husband Leonard Solomon, her son Lee H. Solomon, her parents, three brothers and three sisters. Surviving her, is her daughter Bertha Solomon Mathis and her husband Stephen Mathis of Shippensburg, PA, her sisters, Grace Goss, Lois Ryan, Betty Wicker, Faye Cooley, and her brother Ray Leach all residing in the Carolinas.
Jessie loved to read romance novels. She also loved watching Gene Autry movies and Gunsmoke TV shows. She could crochet and sew at expert levels. She loved animals and family time. Jessie would bake the most awesome Christmas cookies and give them as gifts. She had great love and passion for life.
Memorial services are to be held at the Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home, Parker Chapel, 1000 West South St. Carlisle, PA on Friday, March 11, 2011 at 2:00 p.m., refreshments to follow.
