Jerry R. Foust

Jerry R. Foust, 73, of 9546 Cumberland Highway, Orrstown, PA, passed away the morning of Sunday, August 25, 2024 at home with his loving family by his side.

He was born on February 12, 1951 in Chambersburg, a son of the late Gerald M. “Jack” and Emma F. Brechbill Foust. He married Sharon D. Bigler on December 18, 1971.

Jerry retired as a forklift operator for Volvo Construction Equipment and served six years in the Army National Guard. His pride and joy in life were watching his son, Dustin, and grandson, Colton in their sporting activities growing up. He loved being involved in their racing careers and the countless memories made hunting together. Jerry also took great pride in his gardening and lawncare around the house. In his younger years, he was a member of the Pleasant Hall Fire Company. 

In addition to his wife of 52 years, Sharon Foust of Pleasant Hall, he is survived by one son, Dustin J. Foust of Orrstown; one grandson, Colton R. Foust; three sisters, Janice J. (Curt) Epperson of Pleasant Hall, Dixie L. (Bob) Parr of Chambersburg, and Lisa A. Eichenlaub of Shippensburg; two brothers-in-law, Melvin (Debbie) Bigler of Shippensburg and Richard Bigler of Marion; two sisters-in-law, Debra Cullings and Karen Fleming, both of Shippensburg; his mother-in-law, Catherine Bigler of Shippensburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Wallace Bigler, Sr.; and a brother-in-law, Wallace “Bim” Bigler, Jr. 

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. Per Jerry’s wishes there will be no public viewing, visitation, or service. Jerry will be privately laid to rest in the Pleasant Hall Cemetery.
