Jerry Allen Bigler, 85, of Shippensburg, passed away Thursday, September 27, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born September 20, 1933 in Shippensburg, PA. Jerry was a son of the late Roy O. and Sarah Zeigler Bigler.
He was a member of Messiah United Methodist Church, Shippensburg. Jerry retired from Hoffman Mills after 43 years. He was a member of Cumberland Valley Lodge # 315 F&AM, Tall Cedars of Lebanon Valley Forest #145, Minnequa Social Club, Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post # 223, and a 50 year member of the Hub City Club. Jerry was a graduate of the former Shippensburg High School.
He is survived by his wife Peggy A. Holtry Bigler; four children, Gordon J. Bigler and his companion Edna Miller, Robin A. Van Art, Tina M. (Timothy) Hamilton and Sara Jane (Marlin, Jr.) Johnson all of Shippensburg; four grandchildren, Nathan J. Van Art, Jared A. Hamilton, Janay M. Hamilton and Emily K. Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers, Arthur, Leon, Gordon and Glenn “Jack” Bigler; and one sister, Janet Fuller.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 1, 2018 at 2 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Shippensburg. Officiating will be The Rev. Steven M. Livermore and The Rev. Dr. Francis H. Norton. A Masonic service will be conducted Monday at 12:30 p.m. and the visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of services at 2 p.m.
