Jeffrey E. Heckman, 66, of Shippensburg, departed this life on the afternoon of Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at the WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital.
He was born on October 5, 1954, in Chambersburg, a son of the late Robert E. and Harriet Louise (Black) Heckman and was a graduate of Shippensburg High School. Jeff and his wife Deborah K. Daihl were married on July 31, 2000.
Early in his life, Jeff worked at the former Hoffman Mills for thirteen years; he then moved on to Schrieber Foods where he worked as a maintenance tech for fifteen years; and finally, Jeff worked at the Letterkenny Army Depot for twelve years, also as a maintenance tech, retiring in 2016.
He was a member of the Newburg First Church of God. Jeff was also a member of the NRA. He enjoyed woodworking, as well as wrenching on his Jeep, camping, and caring for his dogs. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife of twenty-one years, Deborah, he is survived by two sons, Kyle E. Heckman and wife Kristy of Mebane, NC and Kody L. Heckman and wife Megan of Willow Hill; one step-daughter, Angela Newman and husband Kevin of Manassas, VA; five grandchildren, Evan E., Jaxon W., Camilla M., and Lisette F. Heckman, and Aiden Newman; two brothers, Brian Heckman and wife Merrie of Chatham and Patrick Heckman and wife Kelly of Shippensburg; three sisters, Roberta Pisle and husband Roger of Chambersburg, Linda Shaver and husband Thomas of Chambersburg, and Anita Rickabaugh and husband Kevin of Orrstown; and many nieces and nephews.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents.
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, September 27, 2021, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. Pastor Jim Moss will officiate. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hall Cemetery. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service on Monday morning at the funeral home.
