Jeanne L. Noaker, 88 years of age, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 11, 2012, from her home in Shippensburg, surrounded by her loving family.
She is survived by one son, Randy Noaker, and his wife Janet, of Carlisle; two daughters, Nancy Noaker Snyder, and her husband Rick, of Levittown, and Jill Noaker Luck, and her husband Henry, of Pittsburgh; a grand-daughter, Jamie Ulkloss and her husband Eric of Southampton; a grand-son, Brett Snyder of Las Vegas; and one great-grand-son, Benjamin Ulkloss. In addition, she is survived by one sister, Helen Rhea Long of Shippensburg, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J. Eldon and Lena I. Long; her husband, Leslie R. Noaker; her son, Dennis R. Noaker; her daughter-in-law, Kathleen G. Noaker; two brothers, Daniel E. and J. Kenneth Long; and three sisters, Virginia Hoffmann, Louise Pochyba and Ruth Feldman.
She was employed at Letterkenny Army Depot during World War II, and became a full-time homemaker at the end of the war. In 1966, she began working at Shippensburg University in the computer center, from where she retired in 1988.
She was a life-long member of Messiah United Methodist Church, where she served in numerous roles including lay leadership, building committee member, Sunday school teacher, youth fellowship adviser, and Stephen Minister. She was also a member of the Shippensburg Historical Society. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, reading, listening to music, and just good conversation.
She will be sorely missed by her family and friends, as she was a shining example and inspiration to so many people with her deep and unwavering faith, her steadfast devotion to her family, along with her thoughtfulness, kindness, comforting manner, and selfless generosity towards others.
There will be visitation from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 14 at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, 112 W. King St. Shippensburg, PA. Funeral services will be held at Messiah United Methodist Church, 30 S. Penn St., Shippensburg, PA on Sunday, January 15, at 2:00 p.m., with the Rev. Kevin Hughes and Pastor Jan Hughes officiating, with visitation from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Spring Hill Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
