Jeanette M. Haney, 80, of Shippensburg, formerly of Sciota, died Sunday, February 2, 2014 at home.
She was born January 15, 1934 in Brooklyn, NY. Jeanette was a daughter of the late Thomas Ralph Foster whom died early in life and the late Raymond and Vivian Figge Kress.
Jeanette retired from the Bangor School District where she taught elementary school for over 35 years. She was a 1950 graduate of Stroudsburg High School, graduated from East Stroudsburg State Teachers College and received her Master’s in Education from Lehigh University.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Kress.
She is survived by her husband, Gordon S. Haney; two daughters, Marilynne K. Wiederspahn and her husband Chris of Sinking Spring, Laura L. Rhinehart and her husband Michael of Shippensburg; five grandchildren, Matthew Wiederspahn of Sinking Spring, Allison Rhinehart and her fiance Cory Wright, and Mitchell, Erika, and Hayden Rhinehart all of Shippensburg; a great grandson, Jameson Wright of Shippensburg and a great granddaughter on the way that will be named Xera Mae Wright; one brother, Ray Kress of Sciota; five sisters, Kay Hildabrandt, Christine Nordmark, and Charlene Nicholson all of Sciota, Roberta McGuire of CT, and Rosemary Kress of Stroudsburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 7, 2014 in the William H. Clark Funeral Home, Stroudsburg, PA at 11 a.m. Officiating will be The Rev. George W. Heckard. Burial will be in Laurelwood Cemetery. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the services in the funeral home.
