Jay E. Chamberlin, 85, of Maclays Mill Road, died Sunday, July 28, 2013 at his home.
Born Wednesday, May 30 1928 in Shippensburg, he was a son of the late Adam Reese and Mary Benita Fogelsonger Chamberlin.
Jay was a member of the Middle Spring Presbyterian Church. He was a farmer all his life owning and operating Chamberlin Farm and also Chamberlin Shale Pit.
He was a member of the Hub City Social Club in Shippensburg and the Tanglewood Hunting Camp in Clearfield County. Jay was an avid hunter and enjoyed watching football and hockey.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Frances Jean Hoover Chamberlin, three sons, Lloyd D. and his wife Angela, Danny R. and his wife Regina, and Jerry L. Chamberlin and his wife Dawn all of Shippensburg; three brothers, Albert Chamberlin, Lee Chamberlin and his wife Jane all of Shippensburg and Glen Chamberlin of Mission, TX, two sisters, Marie Goodhart of Carlisle and Janet Sandy of Elizabethtown, 11 grandchildren, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Stimeling, Frieda Chamberlin and Vada Diehl, one brother, Wendel Chamberlin and one grandson, Garrett Lloyd Chamberlin.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Middle Spring Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Kimberley Wadlington officiating. Burial will be in Middle Spring Cemetery. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service in the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Middle Spring Presbyterian Church, 135 Middle Spring Road, Shippensburg, PA. 17257.
