Janice Mae Chamberlin, 70, of Shippensburg, departed this life on the morning of Sunday, August 4, 2024, at the WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital.

She was born on May 3, 1954, in Chambersburg, the daughter of the late Hughie D. and Dorothy M. (Dunlap) Laughlin. Janice married Wilbur C. Chamberlin on August 25, 1973, at the Newburg First Church of God.

Janice was primarily a homemaker throughout her life, she also worked at the former Tropical Treat as well as in the cafeteria, for the Shippensburg Area School District, for a period of time. 

In her free time she enjoyed cooking, baking, and watching television. Janice also liked collecting Boyd’s Bears, Longaberger Baskets, and Danbury Plates. She was a huge lover of all animals and had many, and many different kinds, of pets to look after over the years. Spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren was very important to her. 

In addition to her husband of fifty-one years, Wilbur, she is survived by her daughter, Lisa M. Miller and husband Keith of Shippensburg; her son, Steve A. Chamberlin and wife Alice of Newburg; five grandchildren, Logan, Luke, Alyssa, Noah, and Boaz; four great grandchildren, Corey, Luca, Jax, and Freya; two brothers, Lee H. Laughlin and Daniel G. Laughlin and wife Barb, both of Newburg; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Jody Marie; two granddaughters, Kadyn Marie and Miracle Jean.

Her funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. There will be no public viewing, visitation, or funeral service. Interment will also be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter at 5051 Letterkenny Road West Chambersburg, PA 17201.
