Janet R. Wingert, 72, of Olde Scotland Road, Shippensburg and formerly of Baltimore Road, Shippensburg, died Sunday, January 29, 2012 in the Shippensburg Health Care Center.
Born June 13, 1939 in Dry Run, she was a daughter of the late Homer and Violet Rowles Rosenberry
Janet was a member of the First Church of God, Shippensburg and its WCSC Group, she was a 1958 graduate of Fannett- Metal High School and attended the Shippensburg University. Janet and her husband owned and operated Wingert Home Improvement Center, Shippensburg and later babysat her grandchildren and a number of other children in her home.
Janet accompanied her husband Lester on several mission trips to Haiti where she developed a true love and kindness for the Haitian Children.
She will be sadly missed by her family and friends
Surviving are one son, Michael W. Wingert and his wife Stacy, Hagerstown, MD, two daughters, Bonnie S. Wik and her husband Dale and Christy L. Yohe and her husband Gary all of Shippensburg, nine grandchildren, Donavan, Brandon and Cameron Wik, Sarah and Kerri Wingert, Danielle Surotchak, David Pollock and Logan and Kaelyn Myers and three great grandchildren, Joseph Surotchak, Keyleigh Wik and Elijah Wingert. Also surviving is one brother James Rosenberry, Spartanburg, SC., and two sisters, Bonnie Miller, Dry Run and Judy Henderson, Fayetteville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lester R. Wingert who died December 25, 2003 and five brothers, Robert, William, John and Glen Rosenberry and Gerald Rowles.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 3, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Shippensburg, with Pastor John E. Byers officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held Thursday, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
