Janet H. Leidig, 80, of Newburg, departed this life on the afternoon of Sunday, September 27, 2020 at WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital.
She was born on January 7, 1940, in Shippensburg, a daughter of the late Aaron H. and Vada K. (Beistline) Graham.
Janet worked in packing and shipping at the Letterkenny Army Depot, from where she retired after over thirty years of employment. She always enjoyed going out to eat, especially for breakfast with her Thursday ladies group and her “Breakfast Buddy.”
Janet is survived by her daughter, Renee Vanderau and husband Bill of Newburg; her son, Rob Leidig and wife Deb of Newburg; her step-daughter, Sharon Askey and husband Paul; eight grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Leidig; three sisters; and one brother.
Janet’s funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. There will be no public viewing or visitation, however, there will be a memorial service held in her honor at 3:00 p.m., on Sunday, October 4, 2020, at the Newburg First Church of God. Pastor Barbara Servello will officiate. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
