Janet Mary Weaver Heller, 94, a resident of Providence Place, Chambersburg, formerly of Shippensburg, passed into the Lord’s hands on Monday, November 28, 2011.
She was born on April 4, 1917, in Waynesboro, a daughter of the late Frank H. and Stella Baker Weaver.
Janet attended the Shippensburg Area High School through the 11th grade and then worked for 47 years as a seamstress at the former Shirtcraft and L’Agilon garment factories on Lurgan Avenue, Shippensburg, retiring in 1979. During WW II she also worked at the Letterkenny Army Depot, supporting the war effort.
She was a lifelong member of the Messiah United Methodist Church, Shippensburg.
Janet is survived by her daughter, Susan Heller Cook and son-in-law, Johnnie L. Cook of Shippensburg and numerous nieces and nephews. She is the last of her immediate family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold D. Heller, who died on October 23, 2010, two brothers, Lee and Frank (Bud) Weaver, and three sisters, Ruth Rhine, Betty Fritz, and Maude Dysert.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 2, 2011, in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Shippensburg. Pastor Kevin E. Hughes and Rev. Dr. Francis H. Norton will officiate. Friends and relatives will be welcomed for viewing on Thursday evening, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg.
