Janet Arnold Mose

Janet Arnold Mose, 89, resident of Providence Place Senior Living, passed away the morning of Friday, March 8, 2024.

She was born on Saturday, August 4, 1934 in Shippensburg, a daughter of the late Paul G. and Frances E. Dunlap Swartz.

Janet was a 1952 graduate of Shippensburg High School and member of the Lurgan United Brethren Church. She worked as an elementary library aide within the Shippensburg Area School District, retiring in 1990. Janet enjoyed painting and playing cards.

She is survived by her five sons, Clinton P. (Brenda) Arnold of Blairs Mills, Stephen J. (Joy) Arnold of Newburg, Edward L. (Deb) Arnold of York Haven, Alan W. (Lori) Arnold of Shippensburg, and Keith A. (Pamela) Arnold of Chambersburg; three step-children, Rodney (Cindee) Mose, Linda McCoy, and Judy (Steve) Grosse; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two siblings, Kenneth Swartz and Joyce Bender; and many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Warren C. Arnold (2-26-1988); second husband, Wayne L. Wadel, Sr. (8-28-1997); third husband, Rev. Richard E. Mose (5-2-2020); one granddaughter, Brianna Arnold; and four siblings, Paul Swartz, Martha Spear, Betty Young, and Mae Holtry.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 18, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at Lurgan United Brethren Church with Pastor Arthur Page and Rev. Edsel Calhoun officiating. Burial will follow in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held Sunday, March 17, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.
