Jamie Lynn Salisbury, 43, of Upper Strasburg, departed this life on the afternoon of Monday, February 18, 2019, at the Chambersburg Hospital.
She was born on January 23, 1976, in Charleston, SC, the daughter of Cynthia A. Matson Smith and the late Mark W. Salisbury.
Jamie worked for Weis Markets, Shippensburg, as an assistant front-end manager, for twenty-four years. In her free time, she enjoyed cross stitch and crocheting. Jamie was also interested in history, but photography was her passion…..and she was really good at it. She could always be counted on to show up to show her support for the volunteers at the Cumberland Valley Hose Company #2, Shippensburg, because Jamie enjoyed the camaraderie and also because Jamie was just the kind of person who was always looking to help someone else out.
She is survived by her mother, Cynthia A. Smith of Venice, FL; her companion and caregiver, Steve Pringle of Upper Strasburg; two half-sisters, Leeann Compton of Missouri, and Hannah Salisbury of Frederick, MD; half-brother, William Salisbury of Waynesboro; step-sister, Kelli Jo Smith of Gaithersburg, MD; step-brother, Michael (Merna) Smith, Jr., of the Philippines; a niece, Cassandra M. Smith, of the Philippines; paternal grandparents, William and Vivian Salisbury of St. Louis, MO; three aunts, Ann Marie Couser of Arizona, Beth Ann Popek of Missouri, and Carleene Fortney-Pontius of Missouri; two uncles, Robert Salisbury of Gilbert, AZ, and Joe Jackson of Missouri; many cousins, and many, many friends.
In addition to her father, Jamie was preceded in death by her step-father, Michael D. Smith; and her maternal grandparents, Howard and Jessie Matson.
Her funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., on Saturday, February, 23, 2019, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. Pastor Luke Holtry will officiate. Interment will be private, at a later date. Viewing will be Saturday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
