James A. “Ace” Rhinehart
James Allen Rhinehart, 59, of Shippensburg, PA, took the path to eternity on February 14, 2011, surrounded by his two daughters Dawn and Michelle, and his very best friend Patricia Rhinehart Bailey, at the Shippensburg Health Care Center. The loving staff of Heartland Hospice assisted in his care.
Born on August 5, 1951, in Gardners, PA, he was a son of the late Ralph and Ruth Lehman Rhinehart, Sr. James was employed at Oliver Oil Company for more than twenty years. During his years of good health, he served both his church and community with a loving and prideful heart. James was once a member of both the Mt. Holly Springs Fire Department and MMPW Fire Department. He was a man of many trades including hunting, fishing, camping, and a collector. His love for music and singing was heard and admired by many. In his younger years he performed with Ace Rhinehart and the South Mountain Soul Brothers. Many will also remember his love for Steelers Football.
James is survived by two daughters: Dawn Rhinehart Cummings of Shippensburg, and Michelle Miller of Petersburg, PA; five grandchildren: Samantha Rhinehart, Denver Cummings, Jessica Miller, Preston Miller, and Thomas Earnest. He is also survived by four sisters: Margaret Myers, Virginia Shepard, Mary Welker, and Clara Mummert; and one brother: Richard Rhinehart.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Ralph & Raymond Rhinehart, and a son-in-law: David Miller.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 19th, at the Bethel Assembly of God Church, 400 Miller Street, Chambersburg, with the Pastor Gary Kipe officiating.
