James W. “Jim” Keating, 90, of Shippensburg, passed away the evening of Thursday, November 21, 2024 at his home with his loving family by his side.
He was born on February 4, 1934 in Carlisle, the son of the late James L. and Lydia G. Borrell Keating.
Jim was a 1951 graduate of the Shippensburg High School and United States Navy Veteran, serving during the Korean War. He worked as a maintenance supervisor for Shippensburg University and retired from the University of South Florida. Jim was a member of the Hub City Club, Durff-Kuhn VFW Post #6168, and Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post #223. Jim enjoyed the Thursday golfing group with his Hub City Club buddies.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Vicki L. Finkey Keating; one daughter, Nichole (Troy) Leto of Tampa, FL; two sons, Michael Keating of Roxbury and Jeffrey Keating of Tennessee; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Jill Keating.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 25, 2024 at 2:30 p.m. at Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg with Pastor Brian Markle officiating. Burial will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Minutemen of the American Legion Post #223. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service.
