James Lee Burkholder, Sr., 61, of Shippensburg, passed away Monday, September 24, 2018 at the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born Tuesday, May 14, 1957 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Coyle Rae and Gertrude G. Elswick Burkholder.
James worked as a mechanic at the former Carburetor Exchange in Pittsburgh, PA.
He is survived by one daughter, Tammy L. (companion Willie Herriot III) Burkholder; his ex-wife whom he remained close to, Ida R. Brown, one granddaughter, Kearstin M. Burkholder; four grandsons, James Lee Burkholder III, Da’Shaun M. Burkholder, Willie Herriot IV, and William Herriot, all of Pittsburgh; two sisters, Nancy Grissinger, Shippensburg, and Debbie Brunner, Pittsburgh; and one brother, Barry Burkholder, Slippery Rock.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, James Lee Burkholder, Jr., and one brother, Larry Burkholder.
Funeral services and burial will be private.
