Jacob C. ‘Jake” Kling, 82, of Shippensburg, went to be with the Lord on the morning of Monday, December 2, 2013, at the Chambersburg Hospital.
He was born on May 3, 1931, in Lewistown, PA. Jake was the son of the late Mr. George Edward Kling and Mrs. Ida Pauline (Earnest) Kling of Lewistown, PA and was the step-son of Arthur Kling. Jake married Ms. Doris B. Furry on December 30, 1973.
Many years ago, Jake worked as a Janitor at the Mechanicsburg Naval Supply Depot and also then, was employed at the Beistle Co., Shippensburg, where he worked as an Expediter.
Jake was a member of the Messiah United Methodist Church, Shippensburg. He loved animals, especially his two little dogs. Jake also liked to tinker around, doing woodwork, in his shed.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Doris; two sisters, Edith Yocum of Lewistown and Mildred Fortney of Mechanicsburg; one brother, Edward Kling of Lewistown; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Jake was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Kling.
His funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., on Thursday, December 5, 2013, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg. Interment will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Viewing will be one hour prior to the services on Thursday, at the funeral home.
