Jacob Flaud

January 24, 1929 — February 11, 2015

Jacob E. Flaud, 86, of 15700 Burnt Mill Rd., Newburg, died on the morning of Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at his home.

He was born on January 24, 1929, in Bird-In-Hand, PA, a son of the late Jacob U. and Sarah Beiler Flaud and married Ms. Sallie S. Esh on November 13, 1956, in Lancaster County, PA.

Jacob was self-employed, starting Flaud Builders and farming throughout his life.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sallie; six children, David E. Flaud and wife Sarah Lee of Newburg, Daniel E. Flaud and wife Miriam Lee of Newburg, Anna Mary Kauffman and husband Melvin of Africa, Martha Ann and husband John Esh of Newburg, Levi John Flaud of Newburg, and Barbara Smoker and husband John of Ronks; thirty grandchildren; forty-four great grandchildren; one brother, Emanuel Flaud and wife Barbara of Bird-In-Hand; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Jacob was preceded in death by one son, Jacob Jr., and two brothers, David and Amos Flaud.

His funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon, on Friday, February 13, 2015, at the Flaud residence, 15700 Burnt Mill Rd. Newburg, PA 17240. Interment will follow in the Mountain View Amish Cemetery. Viewing will be from the time of this notice until his funeral service on Friday.
