Jack A. Umbrell, 80, of Fannettsburg and a resident at the Falling Spring Nursing & Rehabilitation Center passed away peacefully Thursday, October 16, 2015 at the home.
Born Saturday, November 24, 1934 in Willow Hill, he was a son of the late Newton Alexander and Grace Ann Neil Umbrell.
He was a 1952 graduate of Metal Township High School. He was a United States Army Veteran and retired in 1988 from Letterkenny Army Depot as an Industrial Engineer after 35 and a half years of service.
Jack was a member of the Lower Path Valley Presbyterian Church. He was the last Charter Member of the Fannettsburg Ruritan Club and a life member of the NRA. Jack was an avid Phillies Fan, enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. He was very involved in the Fannettsburg Little League for over 25 years.
Surviving is his wife of 60 years, Nancy L. McAllen Umbrell, three sons; Kirk Allen (wife Julianne) Umbrell of Fannettsburg, Kris Eric (wife Sandra) Umbrell of Spring Run, and Kerry Jack Umbrell of Chambersburg, two brothers, Jewel and George Umbrell five sisters, Violet Swank, Judy Zeigler, Barbara Sipes, and twins, Marlene Adams, and Darlene Swanger, four grandchildren, Jessica Jones, Joel and Lance Umbrell, and Ashley Seburn, two step grandchildren, Jessica and Cody Crouse, and two great grandchildren, Kayden Umbrell, and Ford Seburn.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jody Umbrell.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc. with the Rev. Marlin A. “Butch” Neil officiating. Burial will be in Lowers Path Valley Presbyterian Church Cemetery. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
