Jack Rhine

Jack Edward Rhine, 81, of Lantern Lane, Shippensburg, died Monday, November 16, 2015 in the Life Care Hospitals of Mechanicsburg.
Born Friday, September 21, 1934 in Shippensburg, Cumberland County, he was a son of the late Kenneth and Catherine Rhinehart Rhine.
Jack was a 1952 graduate of the Shippensburg Area Senior High. He attended the Trinity United Methodist Church, Walnut Bottom.
He retired as an Engineer from AT & T in Oakton, VA. He was a United States Army Veteran. Jack was an avid coin and knife collector; he was extremely generous and selfless and was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Shirley Delrio Goodhart Rhine whom he married September 15, 1956, one son, Jeffrey Edward Rhine, of Easton, MD, three daughters; Pamela S. Eckenrode, of Carlisle, Tracie Lynne Merrigan, of Boonesboro, MD, and Stephanie A. Rhine, of Hagerstown, MD, one sister, Nancy Wagner, of Chambersburg, and four grandchildren, Chad, Daniel, Dale, and Kaitlin.

A memorial service will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. Harold A. Bolyard, Jr. will officiate. Burial will be private. There will be no viewing or visitation.
