Jack W. Furry, 84, of Fayetteville, passed away Monday, January 1, 2018 in the Chambersburg Hospital.
He was born November 24, 1933 in Scotland, PA. Jack was a son of the late Edward and Bessie Belle Gontz Furry.
He was a retired Supervisor for Greene Township and worked part-time for Robinson’s Body Shop for over 30 years. Jack was a member of the Cold Spring Church, Fayetteville. He was a member of the Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Company and a life member of the Charles Nitterhouse VFW Post # 1299, Chambersburg. Jack was a United States Navy Veteran during the Korean War.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Catherine Pauline Heckman Furry, who passed away December 17, 1986. Five brothers and four sisters are also deceased.
Jack is survived by his wife, Peggy J. Hancock Furry; one son, Jeffrey W. Furry and his wife Sue of Chambersburg; one granddaughter, Molly S. Baker and her husband Donald of Carlisle; two stepdaughters, Carol A. Robinson and her husband Paul and Peggy J. Burke and her husband Ron, all of Fayetteville; one brother, Joe Furry of Chambersburg; four step-grandchildren, Aaron & Andrew Burke, Rob Robinson, Jr. and Heather Gray; eight step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 11 a.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Shippensburg. Officiating will be Pastor Kevin D. Davis. Burial with military honors will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the services in the funeral home.
