J. Harold Holtry, 96, of Shippensburg, died Wednesday, March 27, 2013 in the Shippensburg Health Care Center.
Born January 24, 1917 in Shippensburg, Cumberland County. Harold was a son of the late Herman L., Sr. and Mabel Fitzgerald Holtry.
He was a lifelong dairy farmer and a member of Messiah United Methodist Church. Harold was a life member of the Vigilant Hose Company, Minnequa Social Club, and the Hub City Club all in Shippensburg.
In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Florence E. Hamilton Holtry, one son, Larry L. Holtry, one brother, H. Leroy Holtry, Jr., five sisters, Ada, Frances, Dot, Violet, and Blanche.
He is survived by one daughter, Joanne D. Maus of Shippensburg, five grandchildren, Pamela and Douglas Maus, Randy, Terry, and Stephen Holtry, seven great-grandchildren, Chelsea Maus, Natalee, Raychael, Mason, Logan, Lexy, and Briggs Holtry, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 30, 2013 in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg at 10:30 a.m. Officiating will be The Rev. Dr. Francis H. Norton. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the services in the funeral home.
