Ivan Martin Hoover, 80 of Shippensburg, passed away Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born Thursday, July 3, 1941 in New Holland, Lancaster County, he was a son of the late John N. and Barbara B. Martin Hoover.
Ivan was a lifelong dairy farmer who own and operated the family dairy farm in Shippensburg for over 44 years. He was a member of the Shippensburg Old Order Mennonite Church.
Ivan is survived by his wife Mary R. Eberly Hoover, Shippensburg; eight children, Arlene (Allen) Martin, Shippensburg, Jane (Ivan) Nolt, Mifflinburg, Esther (Reuben) Martin, El Dorado Springs, MO, Anna Mary Hoover, Shippensburg, Susan (Eldon) Martin, Newville, James (Jane) Hoover, Eva (Timothy) Shirk, and Ivan Eugene Hoover, all of Shippensburg; two sisters, Fannie, and Eva, both of New Holland; three sisters-in-law, Alice Hoover, East Earl, Jean Hoover, New Holland, and Ella Rissler, Dorchester, WI; 29 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six grandchildren; two brothers; and one sister, five half-sisters, and four half-brothers.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 27, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. at the Shippensburg Old Order Mennonite Church on Duncan Road, Shippensburg. A viewing will be held Sunday, December 26, 2021 from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Hoover residence, 949 Mud Level Road, Shippensburg, PA 17257 with the Home Ministry officiating. Burial will be in the Shippensburg Old Order Mennonite Church Cemetery.
