Iva Jean Piper, 81, of Newburg, passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at the Orrstown Personal Care Home.
Born Tuesday, March 28, 1939 in Newburg, she was a daughter of the late Charles L. and Mary C. King Pyne.
Iva was a 1957 graduate of the Shippensburg Area Senior High School. She retired from the Shippensburg University where she worked in food service, she also worked at the Beistle Company in Shippensburg and Howard Johnsons on the Pennsylvania Turnpike where she met her husband.
She was a member of the Newburg First Church of God. She loved to cook and bake, she enjoyed gardening, flowers, painting and ceramics. Iva loved spending time with her family and was beyond proud to be a grandmother and great grandmother.
Iva is survived by her husband of 60 years, Robert E. Piper whom she married April 2, 1960; one daughter, Sondra (husband Jeff) Rebuck; one son, Steve (wife Amy) Piper; five grandchildren, Aaron (Fiance, Natasha Dassow) Rebuck, Marissa (husband Dalton) Wolff, Ethan (wife Liana) Piper, Emmy and Ellie Piper; three great grandchildren, Payton Rebuck, Emerson and Piper Wolff; two sisters, Catharine Stewart and Janet (husband Fred) Culbertson; and three brothers, John (wife Deb) Pyne, Fred (wife Billie) Pyne and Don (wife Cheryl) Pyne.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Charlie, Bob and Jay Pyne; one sister, Betty Cromwell; and an infant sister, Helen Marie Pyne.
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, March 6, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the Newburg First Church of God, with Pastor Jim Moss, Jr. officiating. Burial will be private at a later date. A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service in the Church.
