Isabell Goss

Isabella G. Goss, 84, formerly of Lewistown, late of Shippensburg, departed this life on the afternoon of Friday, March 19, 2021, at her home.

She was born on October 9, 1936, in Edinburg, Scotland, the daughter of the late Sgt. Major Robert (of The Royal British Artillery Army) and Grace (Green-Torance) Topping. After graduating Isabel was employed as an Admin. Secretary for The British Royal Air Force/United States Air Force at Kirknewton Air Force Base, where she met and married Raymond N. Goss on June 11, 1955. He preceded her in death on March 23, 2018.

After moving to America with her husband, Isabel was employed at the former Wolmadorf Trucking Co., and then as an administrative secretary for the Mifflin County School District, from where she served as President of the Assoc. of Mifflin County School Service Personnel and remained a member of the NEA, PSEA-R, and PASR. After serving 26yrs. at Penn Highlands, Chief Logan and Indian Valley High Schools she retired in October 1998.

Isabel was not only a wonderful, loving and caring wife and mother, she also deeply loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was fully involved with their lives along with her husband Raymond of sixty-three years. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and time with her family camping near the Juniata River and boating at Raystown Lake for many years. She was so kind and patient with everyone she met, and will sadly be missed.

She is survived by two daughters, Karen E. Byers and husband Frank, Deborah A. Weaver, both of Shippensburg; two sons, Michael S. Goss and wife Leslie of Milroy and Mark R. Goss of Hughesville; seven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Isabel was preceded in death by her brother Stanley Robert Green.

Her funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. There will be no public viewing, visitation, or funeral service.
