Isabel G. Mackey, 98, a resident of the Orrstown Personal Care Home, formerly of Upper Horse Valley Road, Upper Strasburg, died Sunday, January 18, 2015 in the home.
She was born November 4, 1916 in Fort Loudon, Franklin County. Isabel was a daughter of the late Fred S. and Clara E. Zeis Leab.
She retired from the H.J. Heinz Company, Chambersburg in 1975 with over 30 years of service. Isabel attended Air Hill Brethren in Christ Church, Chambersburg.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Merle R. Mackey, Sr. who died April 22, 1997, a daughter, Betty Louise Mackey, a grandson, Clarence Nenninger, Jr., a great granddaughter, Dionne Heck, and four brothers, William, Earl, John, and Guy Leab.
Isabel is survived by one son, Merle R. (Jean) Mackey, Jr. of Upper Strasburg, four daughters, Mary I. (Lew R.) Gibbons of St. Thomas, Genevie E. (Ronald) Heck of Orrstown, Marilyn J. (Clarence, Sr.) Nenninger of Shippensburg, and Sue A. Mackey of Pleasant Hall, one brother, Merle S. Leab of Fort Loudon, 19 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, 21 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 22, 2015 in the Air Hill Brethren in Christ Church, Chambersburg at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held Wednesday evening from 6-8 in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Shippensburg and one hour prior to the services in church on Thursday.
