Isabel M. Butts, 79, of Newburg, was welcomed into heaven on the evening of Wednesday, December 4, 2013.
She was born on August 18, 1934, in Mainsville, the daughter of the late Harry W. and Martha Smith Coldsmith. On June 10, 1952, Isabel married Mr. Charles J. Butts at her parent’s home in a backyard wedding ceremony.
Isabel once worked as a Beautician, owning her own salon, but sold it in 1972 to be at home more to raise her children. When the children were grown, she went back to work as a Dietician at Green Ridge Village, Newville, retiring from there in 1984.
Her favorite pastimes were knitting, crossword puzzles, gardening, and watching birds at the bird feeders.
Isabel is survived by her husband of 61 years, Charles; four children, Joyce A. (Jack) Craig of Shippensburg, Linda M. (Dennis) Byers of Upper Strasburg, William H.D. Butts of Deer Trail, CO, and Ray C. (Stacy) Butts of Newburg; three brothers, John (Dorothy) Coldsmith of St. Thomas, Irvin (Mildred) Coldsmith of Chambersburg, and Arthur (Cheryl) Coldsmith of Gaston, VA; ten grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Isabel was preceded in death by one brother, William H.D. Coldsmith.
Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc, Shippensburg. Pastor Philip E. Steele will officiate. Interment will follow in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg. Viewing will be Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
