Irene M. McMullen, 86, of Shippensburg, died on Wednesday, August 4, 2011.
Born on July 15, 1925, in Altoona, PA, a daughter of the late Walter and Catherine Gunsales Rowan.
On February 7, 1947, Irene married Mr. James P. McMullen, in Altoona, PA. He preceded her in death on April 29, 1996.
Irene was employed as a Registered Nurse throughout her life.
She is survived by one son, James P. (Robin) McMullen, II; two daughters, Patricia A. (Buddy) Goyt and Kay Louise Oberholzer; two grandsons, Brad (Corinne) Goyt and Phillip Oberholzer; and two great grandchildren, Addison and Tucker Goyt, all of Shippensburg.
In addition to her parents and husband, Irene was preceded in death by one sister, Catherine Fegan.
Funeral services for Irene will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of the Visitation Catholic Church at 305 North Prince St. Shippensburg, PA 17257. The Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg, has been entrusted with her funeral arrangements.
